After seeing everyone at Christmas and New Year the house seems very quiet. I’d got used to going for lots of walks and having lots or people to play with.
I have picked some information from my sources that there may be a couple of visitors next week though. Am looking forward to some more playing time.
I’m also wondering why they chose another human to be the new Doctor Who, I’m sure that I could have done a great job saving the universe with my canine skills.

Is what the family was hoping for, but I am still full energy, running around madly and desperately wanting to play with all my new toys. I’ve had a great time seeing and playing with everyone. I especially enjoyed a trip to Richmond Park to see some deer and meet lots of other dogs, it was very windy, so with the wind up my tail I was very excited. But of course I was a good lad and didn’t chase any deer (I was on a lead…)

I have this new friend in the house which I keep wanting to play with. I think that it is a new puppy friend for me to teach the ways of the world to.

Well I have been helping put up the Christmas decorations around the house. Although someone put a toy snowman on the Christmas Tree and this was obviously a present for me so I went over and removed it to play with it… I think I did wrong as I got told off!
Also my friend the rapping dog came out to play (see my blog for last years Christmas photos), and I was very excitedly looking forward to a singalong. But upsetingly he died (battery problems) over the course of the year, sniff. So I will have to do all the singing this year.

This dog needs batteries rather than biscuits!

Now it is December and Advent then I think that I can start to get excited about Christmas. I wonder what presents I will get this year.

I have been playing with my new toys. “Duck” is looking a bit worse for wear after I have been for a few rounds with him. I’ve also gnawed away at my new bone. All the family are home at Christmas so I have lots of people to ask to play with me. Some of them have no stamina and can’t keep up with my pace.
I’ve also tried playing with the human toys as well. One of them got a “rapping dog”, it moves and sings. I was a little unsure to begin with, but now I think it’s okay and I might be friends with it.

For my first Christmas, I went up to London with the family to meet the rest of the family, it was quite a long car journey and I was squashed in the back with all the presents – very hard not to open them before the big day!First of all I met the grandparents of the family. Because I am such a well behaved dog I treated them with respect and did not jump up at them. Although I think that they wanted to play with me! It was a bit strange being in someone else’s house. I then met the rest of the family, who I was still not allowed to jump up at, but I was allowed to wag my tail a bit more.
Christmas morning I had been promised a walk in one of the local parks, but it was pouring down with rain and as I don’t have a raincoat we just walked around the local houses and looked at their Christmas lights! There were a lot of cooking smells in the air!
Then all the humans gathered together to have the Christmas meal. I had to sit quietly in the corner whilst all this eating went on. I could only smell Turkey but no Beef so I decided that I wasn’t bothered by this meal. Beef is my favourite meal. So, unfortunately to report, I was not allowed any of the Christmas Turkey.
The focal point of the day was the present unwrapping, or the tearing of wrapping paper as I like to call it! I was having a great time tearing up all the wrapping paper, when someone discovered underneath the Christmas tree presents for me! I got given doggie biscuits, sizzlers (pieces of bacon), and a new toy! I’m going to name this one duck.

I was a bit worn out by all this so I had a dog nap whilst the humans watched the tv. I should mention the strange experience that was “The Queen’s Speech”, all the humans gathered to watch this human talking. I thought that it was rather boring until I heard in the background some Corgis giving “The Corgi’s Speech” a festive message for all doggies.
I had an evening walk to check if any of the neighbours had any spare food going. It was at this stage of the day that I was introduced to Toby, A CAT! I wanted to go and say hello to Toby, but for some reason he ran upstairs and refused to play! I had to settle for playing with the humans.

On Boxing Day we had to make our way back to Devon, but on the way we stopped at a place called Stourhead, which is a large country home and estate. We had a walk around there and I tried to play with some of the other doggies.

I’m very happy that the family have finished work for Christmas! More time to play with little me! And I’ve heard rumours that I may be getting some new toys, yipee!I’m also looking forward to the turkey dinner. I’m not normally allowed human food but I’m hoping that this time might be an exception.
I’m also looking forward to meeting some of the extended family for the first time. I hope that they all want to play with me and be my friend.
