Postcard from Dorset

I’ve been really enjoying my trips to the beach and I’m not afraid of the waves when I go paddling.  I go in quite a way, but it was a bit confusing when the waves came in to make the water much deeper.  I managed not to drown though!
I went to a pet shop in Poole where I went in to choose some new toys – I wanted them all.  But in the end I got a fabric anchor, with a rope (appropriate for a seaside holiday), and a tumbling rubber ball, which has bits sticking out of it.
I’ve been on a car ferry, another first!  The chains made a loud clanking noise, but I got used to it.
Got bored with the humans taking photos of the views.  I preferred looking at sheep, geese, and other dogs, rather than staring out to sea.
I also went to a cafe in Weymouth where they allow dogs (the best always do) and a nice man gave me my own sausage, nicely chopped up!
Going to have a few days rest to recover from all my fun.

Ghostwriter

January 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Sad news – my ghostwriter is moving to London tomorrow. So as well as having one less person to play with, I’ll also have more trouble updating my blog.

I’m staying behind in Devon with the old humans, I’ll have to try and keep them young with my playing and naughtiness.

Train journey

January 19, 2008 · 3 Comments

I did something new today! I went on a train!! I’ve been to train stations before to pick people up who’ve been on this strange machines, but today was the first time that I’ve been on one.

I’m not sure that I liked it. I don’t really enjoy car journeys and this was less comfortable. I had to sit on someone’s lap. There were lots of other people on the train as well.

We got off after a few stops at a place called Topsham. I’ve been there lots before but we normally drive. Now I think I’m going to go on some more train journeys. Hopefully I’ll get used to it and the strange noises.

PS It’s my birthday tomorrow. I will be 1 year old!!

Woof

January 16, 2008 · 4 Comments

Had a boring few days. People keep going out and leaving me, and then they are suprised when I’m all hyper when they return.

Having to go for a walk now so that some of the humans can have friends round. I think that I’m great company.

Muddiness

January 10, 2008 · 3 Comments

One of the humans was commenting that I don’t get very muddy on my walks compared to other doggies. So I have uped my game and now run through as many muddy puddles as I can!

Yummy! I’ve been munching my way through the doggy treats I got for Christmas and they are very delicious. Am trying to jump as high as possible so I can help myself without having to get the help of the lazy humans

Day at the Beach

On Saturday I had a wonderful day at Exmouth! Humans may prefer beaches in the summer but I like them at any time of the year. There were lots of other doggies on the beach, all running round in the sand, chasing after balls and sticks. I was desperate to join in, but I was told that I had to just play with my family and not go running off after other doggies. Aparently they don’t trust me not to go and choose someone else to give me a lift home. But instead I contented myself with madly running around and jumping the waves in the sea. It was a little on the cold side but I didn’t mind. I chased a bit of seaweed around aswell.

We walked up to the top of the cliff so that we had a good view of the sea. It was a little cold and windy so didn’t stay up there for too long.

After these adventures I got another trip to the pub! It was called the Globe Inn. It was a very exciting pub, there were already two dogs in there. The Landlady was very nice and gave me a doggy treat to eat whilst I sat under the table as the humans ate their food. An exciting aspect to the pub was that it was filled with cuckoo clocks. They weren’t quite all in time so they went off at random times. Some of the noises were a little strange so I woofed at those ones.

I’ve been for another muddy walk today and have played lots so I’m going to have an early night because I’m a bit exhausted.

British Weather

January 4, 2008 · 2 Comments

Well I was promised my first taste of snow this week and it never materialised! Humph! And now it is raining really hard that I’m not being taken out for my evening run.

Hopefully the weather will improve tomorrow as I want to go to the beach.
