I have been playing with my new toys. “Duck” is looking a bit worse for wear after I have been for a few rounds with him. I’ve also gnawed away at my new bone. All the family are home at Christmas so I have lots of people to ask to play with me. Some of them have no stamina and can’t keep up with my pace.
I’ve also tried playing with the human toys as well. One of them got a “rapping dog”, it moves and sings. I was a little unsure to begin with, but now I think it’s okay and I might be friends with it.

For my first Christmas, I went up to London with the family to meet the rest of the family, it was quite a long car journey and I was squashed in the back with all the presents – very hard not to open them before the big day!First of all I met the grandparents of the family. Because I am such a well behaved dog I treated them with respect and did not jump up at them. Although I think that they wanted to play with me! It was a bit strange being in someone else’s house. I then met the rest of the family, who I was still not allowed to jump up at, but I was allowed to wag my tail a bit more.
Christmas morning I had been promised a walk in one of the local parks, but it was pouring down with rain and as I don’t have a raincoat we just walked around the local houses and looked at their Christmas lights! There were a lot of cooking smells in the air!
Then all the humans gathered together to have the Christmas meal. I had to sit quietly in the corner whilst all this eating went on. I could only smell Turkey but no Beef so I decided that I wasn’t bothered by this meal. Beef is my favourite meal. So, unfortunately to report, I was not allowed any of the Christmas Turkey.
The focal point of the day was the present unwrapping, or the tearing of wrapping paper as I like to call it! I was having a great time tearing up all the wrapping paper, when someone discovered underneath the Christmas tree presents for me! I got given doggie biscuits, sizzlers (pieces of bacon), and a new toy! I’m going to name this one duck.
I was a bit worn out by all this so I had a dog nap whilst the humans watched the tv. I should mention the strange experience that was “The Queen’s Speech”, all the humans gathered to watch this human talking. I thought that it was rather boring until I heard in the background some Corgis giving “The Corgi’s Speech” a festive message for all doggies.
I had an evening walk to check if any of the neighbours had any spare food going. It was at this stage of the day that I was introduced to Toby, A CAT! I wanted to go and say hello to Toby, but for some reason he ran upstairs and refused to play! I had to settle for playing with the humans.
On Boxing Day we had to make our way back to Devon, but on the way we stopped at a place called Stourhead, which is a large country home and estate. We had a walk around there and I tried to play with some of the other doggies.

Happy Boxing Day! Woof woof!
I thoroughly enjoyed my first ever Christmas! The present unwrapping was especially exciting. I was very excited to get my own presents as well!
I feeling very tired now though. I’ve had to do a lot of travelling and a lot of entertaining, and it has worn this little puppy out.
I shall write tomorrow with my stories of the big day and post some photos.

I’m very happy that the family have finished work for Christmas! More time to play with little me! And I’ve heard rumours that I may be getting some new toys, yipee!I’m also looking forward to the turkey dinner. I’m not normally allowed human food but I’m hoping that this time might be an exception.
I’m also looking forward to meeting some of the extended family for the first time. I hope that they all want to play with me and be my friend.

The pills that I was given for my spots on my belly have not worked so my human has got me some cream. I think that it smells wonderful, and I knew when it arrived in the post that it was for me! I like having it rubbed on my belly, I find it very relaxing. To be honest I might try and keep the spots so that I can keep having my belly rubbed!

One of the humans has got a new hat. She has got one that is exactly the same colour as me! When I first saw it I thought that they had got me a puppy friend to play with! But, alas, it was not to be. I was so annoyed that I was not allowed to play with the hat that I stole a sock that one of the other humans had left lying around! I got found out though it was taken away from me.

Yesterday I helped with putting up the Christmas decorations in the house. I was very interested with all these baubles, trees, tinsel, wreaths that kept on appearing. I stuck my nose into every bag to check out what was in there. They even pulled out a string of lights (which the humans seemed to take a long time over getting to work – kept on checking every bulb and complaining about it not working) and strung them up on a tree.
The real excitement happened when a garland of feathers appeared from a bag, I was so excited I thought a bird might come flying out at any point! I was allowed to investigate too closely, but occasionally a feather would come floating to the floor which I pounced upon and attacked! I chewed them to destruction, which the humans did not seem to think was a good look for some reason, don’t know why.
The humans seem very excited about this Christmas business. They keep talking about getting a santa hat for me to wear. I may not know too many things but I’m not enthralled by this prospect!

Today I’ve been on a walk to Otterton. It was a very enjoyable walk, I saw another Border Terrier! This one was 10 years old – so old!! But he was still out enjoying his walk, I plan to keep going on at fall pelt for a long time. The humans kept on talking about how wonderful Border Terriers are, so I wagged my tail in agreement!
When we got to Otterton, I had a look around the Mill, which is an old flour and bread Mill turned into cafe and shop. I wanted to have lunch there but we went off to a doggy friendly pub where we could go inside to enjoy the warm. I am very well behaved inside pubs, but I did want to play with some of the other doggys. Unfortunately the food in the pub aparently wasn’t up to standard so I think next time I will get my wish of going to the Mill for lunch. You get to sit outside and watch the birds at the Mill.
This afternoon I am helping with putting up the Christmas decorations, but I will write about that tomorrow when I have finished.
